Choosing the right crib mattress
A good mattress not only makes bedtime more comfortable for your baby, it also supports his growing bones and keeps him safe while sleeping. Be sure to choose a firm crib mattress made specifically for babies, because a soft sleeping surface can be a suffocation hazard and raise the risk of SIDS. The firmer the better. Even if it feels stiff to you, your baby will adjust to it. Mattresses designed for older children and adults may not be firm enough.
A snug fit is important
The mattress needs to fit comfortably in the crib, with no more than two fingers of space between the side of the mattress and the crib frame. If there’s more space than that, the mattress is too small and could be a suffocation and entrapment hazard. By law, full-size crib mattresses must be at least 27-1/4 inches by 51-5/8 inches and no more than 6 inches thick.
Is the crib mattress certified?
Crib mattresses must meet safety standards as defined by the CPSC and the American Society for Testing and Materials. Our crib mattress is CertiPUR-US certified flexible polyurethane foam that meets CertiPUR-US program standards for content, emission and durability, and are analyzed by independent, accredited testing laboratories.

MyFirst Mattress Lifespan and Care
The My First memory foam crib mattress comes with a 10-year limited warranty. Most infants will be in their crib for up to three years, but this mattress transitions nicely to a toddler bed. When you receive your My First mattress, it will be vacuum packed and rolled up. Over the next few hours, the mattress will ‘inflate’ to its true dimensions.
