Hardside Waterbed Mattress Information
Hardside waterbeds consist of a bladder and a frame. Frames are usually made of wood and the bladder sits right inside the frame on a plywood platform, this platform is reinforced underneath. Usually frames have side panels that sit on top of it to make it easier for an individual to climb in and out of bed. The bladder, usually made form vinyl is the chamber that holds the water. Bladders can range from free-flowing to semi-waveless to waveless. A free-flowing bladder will give the effect of a wavy bed, with full motion created from the water. Waveless bladders usually have a layer of material on the top of the bladder to reduce the motion created by the water. For example, a 50% waveless waterbed will decrease the motion created by the water by 50%, making the sleep surface a little firmer and even.
